Arts Nova Scotia and the Creative NS Leadership Council are hosting a peer-led event for the arts and culture sector in Halifax on June 9, 2023, at the St. Mary's Boat Club. The event will focus on selected topics of importance to the sector, with the intention of engaging community members’ perspectives and experiences. Topics already identified include: Arts and Health; Climate Change and Sustainability; and Arts and Accessibility.

This roundtable-style event is meant to be informal, inviting open discussion and networking, however, we are also aware that some structure is necessary. Therefore, we are looking for interest from those willing to act as hosts to these peer-led discussion tables. We will aim to have 2 hosts per table so that the discussion is not dependent on one person’s/organizations’ experiences.

We are specifically seeking table hosts for Alternative Leadership and/or Governance Models. If you or your organization are interested in sharing learnings, successes, and challenges on this topic, please let us know. In addition, if you have an idea for a discussion topic, get in touch.

Table hosts will be paid $335.

We will schedule each table topic for about an hour. Event participants will attend whichever table is most interesting to them. It is an opportunity to network freely and to learn from others’ experiences in the province. There is no set outcome; the intention is to stimulate conversation, learning, and partnerships.

The event will be free and open to artists and cultural workers in Nova Scotia. It will run from 10am – 1pm followed by a lunch.

Email briony.carros@novascotia.ca by May 23 to express interest or if you have questions.

Full details for the event will be released soon.
