Since 1975 The Nova Scotia Art Bank Program has encouraged the development of artistic excellence, and stimulated awareness of visual arts and fine craft through the acquisition of a working collection of contemporary Nova Scotian art. The work is displayed in Government of Nova Scotia offices and agencies through the Art Bank Lending program.
The Art Bank is looking for casual on-call preparators who can assist the Art Bank Loans Coordinator with packing, transportation, and installation of artworks.
Responsibilities
- Installation of artworks of different mediums in various environments
- Knowledge of packing materials and safe handling methods
- Packing and handling artwork for delivery
- Loading and offloading artworks
- Transporting artworks in rental vehicles
Requirements
- Experience handling art in an art shipping organization, museum, or gallery
- Knowledge and experience with art installation techniques
- Physical ability required in lifting/moving artworks up to 50lbs
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to drive a 17’ truck in downtown Halifax and the surrounding region
